Green Lips

Back in the days when we did paste-up, designers would put tissue paper over a completed paste-up board. Then on the tissue paper, the designer would write various instructions for the printerincluding color instructions for art on the board. For some reason, my editor at the time, as a joke, used a green colored pencil to color a person's lips on a black-and-white photo. He either thought the press wouldn't take him seriously, or that the designer would change the tissue. Didn't happen. Yep, when the magazine printed, the person in the black-and-white photo had very ugly green lips.
