I long to have children. Will God ever fulfill this dream?
Remember everything is in God's hands—and He can do the impossible.
Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7

If you're infertile, you may already have spent months—or years—going through a host of doctor visits, specialty referrals, fertility procedures, and perhaps even surgeries. With all that going on, you probably feel physically and emotionally drained. You wonder if God has deserted you, is punishing you (perhaps you've had an abortion in the past) by not letting you birth a child, or He just doesn't care about your dreams.

But our God is one who can accomplish the impossible. Consider Sarah, who was very old and past "the age of childbearing." No wonder she laughed outright when the heavenly visitors told Abraham that she would have a baby. Wouldn't you laugh, too? However, the laughter turned into awe and worship when Abraham (who was a hundred years old!) and Sarah had their child—Isaac. Unfortunately, along the way, Abraham and Sarah had taken matters into their own hands by trying to produce a child through Sarah's maid. As a result of this sinful action, the lineage of Isaac and Ishmael are still at odds with each other today.

As you go through this painful period, put your situation in God's hands—and let Him handle it. (See also Genesis 25:20-26; Genesis 30:1-8; 1 Samuel 1:1-20.)

Good Words to Remember:
Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Genesis 21: 7

Today's Challenge:
Choose daily to put your childlessness into God's hands—and to let go of your anxiety.
