Remember you, too, are a sinner saved by grace.

You thought he was your friend—until he shared a secret about your past with some of the people in your Bible study group. Now you feel uncomfortable attending the group. He's greatly wronged you, and you don't know if you can ever forgive him.
Or maybe your friend has disappointed you. You've talked with her time and time again regarding her behavior around men (she tends to be flirty), and now you've discovered she's having an affair with a married man. What should you do?
Friends are only human—too human sometimes. But so are you. In this passage is a reminder that all of us are sinners. If you're a Christian, you've been saved by grace because of God's mercy and love (2:4, 5). God's grace toward us is his gift to us (2:8), so you should be gracious toward your friends—even when they hurt you.
So when you think you just can't forgive a friend for what he's done, reflect on these verses—and remember what Christ has done for you. (See also Romans 7:21-8:5; Colossians 3:12-14.)
Good Words to Remember:
By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
Today's Challenge:
Do you give your friends the same grace Christ has extended to you?
