Show him the straight path.

Let's say you're carpooling with a friend who always takes the long way home. Winding through the countryside might be nice on a sunny autumn day; but when you really want to get somewhere, it seems ridiculous not to take the most direct route.
Yet that's how many of us approach salvation. We try everything possible to earn God's favor, seemingly forgetting God has already provided the straightest path to salvation. Try as we might to find another way to heaven, it's Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who saves us from our sins.
God mapped out the straight road to salvation long before Jesus actually arrived on earth. The Book of Isaiah lays out God's plan, explaining how Jesus would come to take the punishment that should have been ours—and take it willingly (53:6, 7). That act, and that alone, will bring you the eternal life with God you long for.
So why knock yourself out trying to find another way? There's only one road to everlasting life—and it's a route that's been mapped out for generations. (See also Isaiah 7:10-17; Mark 16:1-8; John 14:1-14.)
Good Words to Remember:
He was wounded for our transgression, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
Today's Challenge:
When your friend talks about many ways to God, what will you tell him?
