Will God really condemn people who don't accept Christ as their Savior?
Rejecting God means choosing death.
Deuteronomy 30
God made some wonderful promises in the Book of Deuteronomy. He promised his people that if they chose to follow him, they chose life. If they were obedient, he'd treat them with kindness; he'd bless them, their work, and their children. Throughout the Bible, God reminds us that he's the only One who can give life. And he'll give it to those who love him.
But there's a flip side to this. God also warns that rejecting him is choosing death and disastereven though God is anxious to give life instead.
The New Testament is clearJesus Christ is God himself in human form. So those who reject Christ are doing exactly what God warned against: rejecting the only one who can give life.
Christ repeated God's words to the Israelites in the Old Testament when he told his followers he came to bring life "more abundantly" (John 10:10). Yet not all choose this life. Some will suffer the judgment God outlines in Deuteronomy 30. Because they refuse to worship the one true God, they will be placed under a curse. Every person has a choicefor "life and good" or "death and evil." What have you chosen? (See also Zephaniah 1:14-18; John 3:16-18; John 6:60-69; Romans 10:5-21.)
Good Words to Remember:
Love the LORD your God, that you may obey his voice, and that you may cling to him, for he is your life and the length of your days. Deuteronomy 30:20
Today's Challenge:
Have you chosen to accept Christ as Savior? To make him the guard and guide of your life?
