How can my spouse and I grow spiritually as a couple?
Support each other as you grow together.
Galatians 6:1-3

One of the great things about marriage is that a husband and wife have the opportunity to walk a spiritual Journey together. There will be many times when both of you are strong spiritually and feel as though you are progressing down the road with ease. However, there will also be times when one of you is strong and the other is weak. It's during those times that the beauty of God's plan for marriage is clearly seen: the one who's strong helps the one who's weak—and the marriage is strengthened as a result.

It's important that the one offering help do so with an attitude of love and acceptance, realizing that at some point he or she may need similar assistance. Paul warns about thinking you're somehow better than someone else just because you're strong at a particular moment. Your moment of need will come soon enough!

When husband and wife understand that neither is better nor "more spiritual" than the other and that both have strength to offer, they can give and receive this assistance in a way that isn't threatening, but comforting. (See also Hebrews 5:11-6:3; 1 Peter 4:8-11.)

Good Words to Remember:
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

Today's Challenge:
Think back to a time when you were weak spiritually and your husband was strong. How did he help you during this time?
