I like being single. Is that normal?
God needs people who can give their all to their work.
Nehemiah 4; 6:15, 16
Some jobs require more effort than you can fit into a "9 to 5" day. Other jobswhether they're paying jobs, volunteer work, or something elseare worth all the effort and energy you have. As a single person, you can give it all you've got!
The work of building up the walls of Jerusalem was so important and so dangerous that it required high-commitment prayer and effort. This was no "9 to 5" job. Workers were on duty day and night (4:9).
God still calls workers to build up his kingdom. Sometimes the work calls for more time and energy than a person busy with spouse or family can give. As you enjoy your singleness, enjoy your freedom to serve God to the hilt! (See also Numbers 11; Romans 14:1-12; 1 Corinthians 7:29-35.)
Good Words to Remember:
Nevertheless we made our prayer to God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night. Nehemiah 4:9
