My spouse doesn't share my passion for spiritual things. How can I deal with my frustration and sadness?
Remember God himself will wipe away your tears.
Revelation 21:1-4 | posted 1/30/2009

All things here come to an end—even your pain. But God and his people live forever. If your spouse is a Christian, God will someday heal him of his lack of passion. By the time you are living in the new heaven and new earth, your spouse will know with full intensity the grace of God. And you'll be able to worship God together, joining all the creatures of heaven. If your spouse is not yet a Christian, you can continue to pray that God will draw him to himself so you can share that day.

Meanwhile, you'll feel the loss of all that could be that is not. When it seems appropriate, mention the sense of loss to your spouse in a way that expresses your love and your longing to share such an important part of your life with the most important person in your life.

Continue to talk to God about your feelings. God can make all things new. He will make a new heaven and a new earth and a new city of Jerusalem. And he can even bring new faith to your spouse. (See also Job 6:14-21; James 5:7-11.)

Good Words to Remember:

Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, no sorrow, no crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:3, 4

Today's Challenge:

How can you share your spiritual passion with your spouse without driving him crazy?
