Pray your child will decide where he or she is heading—eternally.

Your son goes off to college. Your daughter calls at midnight to say "Guess what, Mom, Dad? I'm getting married!" Your son shares with you that he's beginning to doubt his Christian faith—or that he's renounced his faith. Or maybe your child has never really accepted Christ, and you see her headed down the wrong road.
It isn't always easy to do what the well-known bumper sticker says, "Let go, and let God." Sometimes you'd rather take back the reins of control that you had over your children when they were little. You want to guard them from mistakes—and the resulting unhappiness—and yet you know you can't always be physically present.
This passage offers hope for any parent who has to "let go" of his child into the adult world and isn't sure where that child stands with God. If Nicodemus, a Pharisee and an adult man (3:4), can come to Christ, you can pray for your children to do the same—or to rediscover the godly path of their childhood! As Jesus says, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (3:6). Ask God today to make his presence real to your children so that they, too, will want to walk with him—toward eternity. (See also Genesis 13 Ruth 3.)
Good Words to Remember:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:6
Today's Challenge:
How much time do you spend praying about your child's eternal future?
