Fill up on more of the right things.

More. That's what our consumer society says you have to have all the time—more goods, more power, more status, more leisure, more excitement, more freedom. No wonder most of us fight chronic feelings of discontent! Everything around us tells us to be dissatisfied with what we have.
Interestingly enough, this passage encourages you to keep adding more to your life. The difference is, what should you be adding? Virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love (1:5-7) are qualities Peter said we should keep expanding.
Ironically, Peter also assures you that you already have these things because God has given them to you. But you can always make fuller use of everything God gives you for your spiritual health and ministry to others.
As you love God and minister to other people, you'll feel less restless. You'll be more content with your place in life because you'll find purpose in doing what God gives you to do. (See also Ecclesiastes 6:1-9 ; Daniel 2:20-21 ; .)
Good Words to Remember:
His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3
Today's Challenge:
Which of the above qualities do you need to add to your life?
