When a poor decision on my part has damaged my reputation as a Christian, what can I do?
Serve others.
Luke 7:36-50
Many are quick to point the finger at you if you've taken a wrong turn in your Christian walk. Facing such people requires courage; they may doubt your sincerity when you try to rebuild your reputation as a Christian.
But Jesus knows your heart. When you respond to him in love, you demonstrate that his forgiveness is real in your life. The sinful woman in this passage didn't waste her time trying to convince Simon and the other Pharisees of her devotion to Jesus. She concentrated on serving Jesus himself And Jesus gave her peace (7:50).
Let your loving service demonstrate your desire to start fresh. And Jesus will give you peace. (See also Joel 2:12-17; Jonah 2:3; Micah 7:18, 19; Zechariah 10:6-12; Galatians 1: 11-24.)
Good Words to Remember:
Then (Jesus) said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace." Luke 7:50
Today's Challenge:
Are you trying to prove to others your faith, or are you letting it show through devoted service?
