How can I resist the pressure to be sexually active?
Remember God rewards righteousness.
2 Peter 2:7-9
With all the sexy billboards, sex-laced television shows and movies, clothing catalogs (not to mention all the conversations you have with friends or overhear), it's impossible to bury your head in the sand and not think about sex as a single.
God has created you as a sexual being, with a sex drive. But He also makes it clear that you need to choose the godly pathsex only within marriage. When others tell you, "Do what feels right," or "You're marrying him anyway," or make fun of your virginity, you can say no because God has called you to be righteouseven when it's tough to do so in today's world.
Second Peter tells the story of Lot and says that "righteous Lot
was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked" (2:7). Even in the midst of an evil generation, Lot didn't give in to the temptations of his dayand neither should we. Then we, like Lot, will receive our reward. The Lord will rescue us (2:9) and proclaim us righteous. (See also Joshua 7; Psalm 103; Ephesians 6:10-20; James 1:12-18.)
Good Words to Remember:
(God) delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked.2 Peter 2:7
Today's Challenge:
Has God rescued you from past temptation? If so, how? How can you put those principles into effect for future temptation?
