I'm more attracted to people of the same sex than to those of the opposite sex. How should I handle those feelings?
Know that same-sex physical contact is outside God's law.
Leviticus 18:22, 29, 30
There's a saying in today's world that leads to a lot of trouble: "If it feels good, do it." That means that anything goes in the world's eyeswomen having sex with women, men having sex with men, women and men having multiple partners, etc. But God's Word is undeniably clear. He says that lying with another woman is an "abomination" in His sight and that it "defiles" you.
God's plan is one woman and one mantogether for a lifetime. Within the context of safety and marriage, children can be born, raised, and nurtured, and both partners can grow emotionally, physically, and spiritually in an environment of forever love. Without the commitment of marriage and the blending of the two sexes, male and female, into a oneness, the result is a false partnership that could be destroyed through the introduction of another new, more "desirable" partner. God knows that such insecurity and instability is difficult for humans (who are relational beings) to handle, and He doesn't intend for you to live that way. So He provides basic rules to protect you from unnatural urges that could ruin your life. In His Book, same-sex contact is a definite no. (See also Romans 1:24-27; 1 Timothy 1:8-16.)
Good Words to Remember:
You shall keep My ordinance. Leviticus 18:30
Today's Challenge:
Think back to when you had these same-sex urges. Is there a reason you aren't interested in the opposite sex, as per God's plan? (Studies show that the turning point for many lesbians is the experience of sexual abuse by a man. As a result, they can no longer trust men and turn to other women to meet their social, emotional, and physical needs for intimacy.)
