How can God use me as a single woman?
Be a clear thinker.
2 Samuel 20:14-22 | posted 1/30/2009

Imagine talking back to a battering ram! (20:15). That's what one wise, courageous woman did-without the backup of a father, husband, brother, or town leader. Even if these men were available to her, it appears that God used her with great effectiveness. She found out what those attacking her town wanted (a leader of the rebellion), and was able to negotiate peace by meeting their demands. As a result, her town was saved.

Clear thinkers come in all shapes and sizes, male and female, single and married. In the midst of puzzling situations, God can use a person who seeks him. He will most likely use a person who has acquired a little wisdom from him along the way and has the courage to use that wisdom. He doesn't give certain tasks to certain people based on their marital status. His qualifications are different: a heart that seeks after God's wisdom and courage. (See also Exodus 15:19-21; Judges 6; 7; Malachi 3:16-18.)

Good Words to Remember:

A wise woman cried out from the city, "Hear, hear!" 2 Samuel 20:16

Today's Challenge:

Do you act (in other words, "think") or react?
