Sometimes I really want to be married. How can I deal with those times?
Find your heart's home.
Psalm 84 | posted 1/30/2009

If God is all-powerful, He can do anything, right? Well, then, why doesn't He take care of the dilemmas I face because I'm single— loneliness, fewer financial resources, unexpressed sexuality, invisibility in a couple-oriented world?

The Lord God is so all-powerful that He can address those needs whether or not you have a spouse. He can create a climate and surroundings that enable you to feel at home-relaxed, safe, attended to. It's easy to get off-track when your goal becomes finding a spouse instead of building a home. Yet, every woman, single or married, struggles to find her heart's home in God and to feel comfortable here on earth. God can show you what's required for you to feel at home with yourself in this world. When you allow Him to do this, your heart will be peaceful and content. Whether or not a spouse joins along the way, your heart will be satisfied, you'll feel valuable because you're walking in God's will, and you'll have joy! (See also Jeremiah 29:10-14; 1 Peter 3:13-18.)

Good Words to Remember:

O LORD of hosts, my King and my God … blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they will still be praising You. Psalm 84:3, 4

Today's Challenge:

Write down all the ways God meets your needs—even without a spouse.
