If I've turned away from God, is it possible to come back?
Trust God to forgive you.
1 John 1:8-2:2 | posted 1/30/2009

Many Christian women have trouble receiving God's forgiveness—especially for sexual sins. One woman said: "How I wish I'd been a virgin on my wedding night. It's been twenty years, but my past still haunts our marriage bed."

But when you refuse to receive the forgiveness Christ offers, it not only keeps you from experiencing his joy, it can lead you into other sin. For example, in the experience above, this woman's inability to trust that God could cleanse her was still affecting her husband, her marriage, and herself. It's far better to admit sin and repent than to try to justify it. Jesus paid a high price for your sins. Who are you to reject his offer of cleansing? He offers his tender forgiveness. All you have to do is ask. (See also Isaiah 55:6-13; Lamentations 3:31-40; Ezekiel 37:1-14; Hosea 3; Joel 2:25-27.)

Good Words to Remember:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Today's Challenge:

Have you accepted God's forgiveness? Why, or why not?
