Speak up for God's truth.

Sometimes you think you'll burst if someone does not speak up. A bunch of kids are watching an inappropriate video, a newspaper editorial challenges the Christian faith and invites letters in response, or an important person takes advantage of a needy person. God has a way of taking care of this himself, but sometimes, as in the case of Elijah and Ahab, God directs his servant (you) to speak up.
If you do this, you may be called a "troubler" (18:17). Be prepared with prayer and self-examination to state briefly but clearly what the problem is. Be prepared to show through examples what God wants and how well it works. Ask God to equip you with words that confront and clarify.
But also be sure you care more about God's message than about yourself. Set aside your own agenda. Personal inquiries and hurt feelings are not the issue. Having people look up to you or at you is not important. You, the messenger, will do better to remain the humble servant, as Elijah did. (See also 1 Chronicles 29:1-20; Haggai 1:1-11; Acts 4:32-5:11; 1 Corinthians 13:11-13.)
Good Words to Remember:
Elijah said, "As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely present myself to him today." 1 Kings 18:15
Today's Challenge:
How do you speak up for God's truth?
