Is it okay to read my horoscope, astrological sign, have my palm read, and use a ouija board?
Anything that is not of God will ultimately fail you.
Isaiah 47:12-15 | posted 1/30/2009

Have you ever used a "never-fail" cookie recipe that didn't look anything like or taste anything like it was supposed to? Or had a friend not show up for an important lunch date? Or had a computer system that crashed? Nothing on this earth is fail-safe. And anything or anyone who promises not to fail you is only blowing smoke. That's because everything on this earth is temporary; it will pass away someday. Likewise, partnering in activities such as studying the stars (astrology) and future-telling to find out what will happen in your life is not only worthless, but harmful. Partaking in such endeavors will make you "as stubble, the fire shall burn." It will promise what it can't deliver. It can't help you or save you.

But God—and only God—can. All throughout Scripture are numerous passages that reveal his rock-solid, fail-safe promises—to never leave you, forsake you, or fail you. You can trust him to do what he says because he's been doing it for thousands of years of recorded history! (See also Deuteronomy 18:10-14; 1 Samuel 28:3-25; Isaiah 41:21-29; Micah 5:12-15.)

Good Words to Remember:

The astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators … shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them. Isaiah 47:13, 14

Today's Challenge:

Instead of seeking other sources of wisdom, why not return to the Bible? As you read through it, you'll discover all the miraculous ways God has come through for his people—and will come through for you, too.
