Make God the companion of your schedule.

If you ask most Christians how to spend time with God, they'll respond: "Go to church, read your Bible, and pray." But these critical communication times are only a portion of your time with God. He's the foundation for your day, the companion of your schedule. As Mark 13:32-37 illustrates, let every action and every minute be one you'd be proud for Jesus to see. Why? He's coming back at a time only God knows.
Not only is Jesus coming back, but he's here with you now in the Holy Spirit. Please him with your every word, attitude, and choice. Learn how to do this by spending time in the Bible. While no one has unlimited time, you can squeeze minutes here and there with the following strategies: Read a chapter before you get in the car for work, then think about it all the way there; purchase Scripture on cassette and listen to it in the car (ditto for praise songs that quote Scripture word-for-word); read a verse before you go on break at work, then pray it through as you walk to the break room or converse with your coworkers. (See also 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 3:4-7, 14.)
Good Words to Remember:
Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. Mark 13:35, 36
Today's Challenge:
How do you incorporate God into your schedule?
