Recognize your master is God.

No one is immune from the temptation to play office politics. You may discover—to your dismay—how easy it can be to shade the truth or paint your actions in a pretty light. Then you may find yourself excusing wrong motives with the-end-justifies-the-means thinking.
Office politics are especially tempting because selfishness is hard for others to detect. How can a person outside you know whether you said something to get your way—or because it was the right thing for the team? But while your office mates may not recognize when you play the politics game, God does. So run from politics like a deadly disease. Remember that whether you're a supervisor or under supervisor, your true master is God. You are not better than anyone else; you take priority over no one else. All of us are equal at the foot of the Cross.
You're a valuable human being loved by God and created to do his good. You're in relationship with coworkers who are also valuable human beings loved by God. Treat others this way—even if you're the only one in the office who does it. (See also Deuteronomy 5:20, 21; Esther 7:1-6; Matthew 20:20-28; Galatians 5:13-16; James 3:5-18.)
Good Words to Remember:
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23, 24
Today's Challenge:
Do you try to please others by playing the political game? If so, you're allowing them to control you.
