Video Testimony
When my 4-year-old daughter, Emily, said she wanted to ask Jesus to be her
Savior, we prayed and then used the video camera to record her talking about
her decision to become a Christian. Not only is this precious footage for
us as parents, it also will assure Emily of the depth of her understanding
should she ever question her salvation.

Take Cover
When it gets warm outside, keep a beach towel or other large towel in the
car. When you park the car to run errands, use the towel to cover car seats
and seat belts to keep the belt hardware from getting too hot. Its
also handy to have for wiping up spills or to use as a light blanket if the
air conditioning feels too cool.

Marking Time
To help my children keep their busy schedules straight, we created a
child-friendly calendar. I cut out symbols to indicate which activity occurs
on each day: a violin for music lessons, a leotard for gymnastics, a cross
for Sundays.
We place sunshine symbols on the days as they pass so the children know where
to look to see whats planned for the coming week.

House Painter
When my daughter learned to use crayons, we created "Mary Kaitlyns
Coloring House." We found a cardboard box that was large enough for her to
fit inside. To make a "house" we cut out doors and windows. She loves to
sit inside the box and color on the walls of her house.

No Place Like Home
Our family moved across the country when my son was 18 months old. I made
him a laminated book called My Family Is Moving to North Carolina.
It contained pictures of the people and places we were leaving as well as
photos of our new home. I ended the book with a photo of our family, to show
him that even in North Carolina, wed still all be together. He loved
the book and I was thrilled when we pulled up to our new house and he actually
called it "home!"

Photo ID
I use personalized pictures to make cute identification tags for my
childrens diaper bags or backpacks. Take a wallet-sized photograph,
write the childs name and age on the back and have it laminated. You
can punch a hole in the corner and fasten it to the strap of the bag with
a large diaper pin or ribbon.
