Iran is desperate to improve relations with Western European countries and is fearful of trade sanctions, Ghaffari says. Its authorities are eager to improve their human rights reputation, he says.

Human rights organizations recommend that you write a respectful letter to one or more of the Iranian officials listed below. Express concern for the well being of the Christian community in Iran. Request information about what steps the government is taking to protect its citizens' religious freedom according to the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
