Christian Colleges' Hottest Profs?
Schools discount site that lets students publicly grade and berate faculty.

As MTV knows, image matters. "I work in public relations," said Paff, "and I'd like those little yellow smiley faces to be by everybody's name, but that's just not going to happen."

Well, since I am the only single professor in the Religion division at Pepperdine, I'm glad to know that some student is looking out for my dating life, and that I finally made the pages of Christianity Today. If anyone knows of someone who is available for a religion professor, please let me know. hahaha Thanks Christianity Today.

Thanks, Cory. I should say that I'm reasonably certain I never had this student in class. The comment, allegedly from a current student, was posted 4 years after the last time I adjuncted the junior-level course. (Can't remember if I even owned a PDA at that time.) Colleges and universities do take student feedback very seriously, though. My institution considers students' anonymous course evaluations in the faculty review and tenure process. Responsible and constructive criticism is always valuable.

Good perspectives by John Paff that the site shouldn't be taken too seriously because of the huge tendency toward inaccuracies. I love that the comment about him was by a student that didn't even take his class! It's true, though, that user-generated content like this is the wave of the Internet's future and readers need to understand how to balance that content with good editorial research and development. It's very similar to this Reader Review feature on CT actually!
