Collin, do you read these? If so, I'm sure you'll let me know. ;-) I have some major qualms about Bush's 'theology', because frankly, it's a weak one from the standpoint of the Bible. You can argue that because mankind is made in God's image, therefore he has tremendous worth and consequently is worthy of utmost respect (and we know the latter simply by reading Jesus' words in the Gospels). However, to then argue that because of this, one of our 'inalienable rights' is 'freedom', is a massive logical misstep. For one, God doesn't even grant that spiritual freedom is an inalienable right, let alone political freedom. He subjected his own chosen nation to political oppression over and over in the OT period, and in the NT we learn nothing of a political agenda by Jesus or any of the apostles. It's simply not there, which to me resoundingly indicates that it's not a concern of his. Evangelism, disciple-making, worship is his concern, and by extension ought to be ours. See ya Sat.
