Bloxham, you could not possibly be more wrong in your assertions. Dr. Kennedy did not misunderstand American history (which flat-out cannot be understood without recognizing the importance of Christian activism--or don't you read Stephen Prothero?), just because he was espoused conservative principles (I have no idea whether or not he was a Republican) does not make him captive to human ideology rather than Christ, and the questions are not a formula (because questions, by their nature, never are). What I find most obnoxious, however, is your attitude. You sound like Christopher Hitchens snarking about Jerry Falwell. You simply lack the common decency to let the man die in peace. I pray to God that Dr. Kennedy's family never reads your idiotic screed.

What if Dr. Kennedy is wrong? What if, at heaven's gate, God doesn't ask, "Why should I let you into my heaven?" What if our salvation is based not on intellectual assent to an American formula, but rather something else. My question is, if Jesus were to encounter Evangelism Explosion, would he recognize it at all? My guess is -- probably not. And Dr. Kennedy's intellectual arrogance, his unwillingness to listen to anyone outside his own circles, his precious and willful misunderstanding of American history, and his allegiance to the Republican Party can hardly be pleasing to God.

When I get old and bite the dust buy me a coffin that'l be quick to rust. Sing a song or two: "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace" Because I'll be gone; standing face to face. To sum it all up is but to say There are many paths, but only one way. It is all based on His Matchless grace and, how you and I run the race. This is what I believe - and if it ain't so Give warning to all of impendig woe. Becuase without God's unlimited Grace We'll all spend eternity in another place. The whole world is caling our preception just one all encompassing deception. Even so, I'll still believe and I'll still strive. Because I know Christ has risen - He is alive!!!
