Style: Blues-inspired rock; compare to Plumb, Daughtry, Orianthi

Top tracks: "King Glory," "My All," "Never Alone"

Imagine Plumb channeled through bluesy licks or the group Daughtry with a female vocalist, and that pretty much defines new alternative rock band Sweet Chariot. The California sextet splits eleven tunes between growling rockers and passionate ballads. Lyrics are mostly vertical, but include members' personal tests of faith (the singer and guitarist chronicle their daughter's battle with leukemia in "Never Alone"). A handful of long jam sessions prove to be a bit self-indulgent and could stand some radio-worthy trimming.
