Style: Jazz-tinged pop/rock; compare to Plumb, 10,000 Maniacs, Amy Winehouse, Duffy
Top tracks: "Fly," "Brilliant Life," "Unmask Me," "A Moment"
Formed in 2008 by former Casting Crowns drummer Andy Williams, Soul Sister Sally's sound reflects influences from pop and rock to jazz and classical. The results make for a melodic smorgasbord led by Andy's wife Kelly, a versatile vocalist who can simmer with soul one minute and rock out with abandon the next. Besides impressive musicality with a much wider range than Casting Crowns, Soul Sister Sally also connects lyrically, with a redemptive and restorative thread running throughout these ten tunes.
