Style: Reggae-pop

Top tracks: "Sunshine," "King Crown of Judah," "Tel Aviv'n"

Gradually shaving away the gimmicks that brought him fame, Matisyahu is at least attempting to reinvent himself on Spark Seeker. His long beard is gone, but he has retained beat-boxing (which is played out, and he might want to strongly consider setting aside next time), uplifting melodies, and lyrics inspired by his Jewish faith. The production is the most striking element of the album, bright and bombastic enough to warrant a guest verse from Nicki Minaj or Ke$ha. Luckily, they never do show up, and Matisyahu holds his own for 13 radio-friendly pop songs. He even followed the latest trend and brought in a sax solo for the final track.
