It's a rare thing to find a CCM artist who appeals to top-40 fans, balancing Christian themes with a sound comparable to today's radio hits. Britt Nicole finds the sweet spot with Gold, showcasing catchy dance beats with the star quality of a Disney Channel diva. Her voice, in its best range, sounds similar to Colbie Caillat or Natasha Bedingfield, but unfortunately, her higher register produces more strain than powerful belt. Although not immune to the genre's repetitive nature, Nicole's second person "you and me" language makes her songs conversational and especially accessible to young girls.
