In a Starbucks I recently visited, a sign read "Take Comfort in Rituals." Some evangelicals are doing just that by returning to ancient practices in liturgical traditions: Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, and Anglicanism. In Journeys of Faith, Robert Plummer collects personal stories and theological arguments from those who have made faith journeys in all directions, in and out of evangelicalism. Some contributors are warmly ecumenical, while others are not. Each "conversion" story (as they are unfortunately called) is given an evangelical response. This volume adds to our understanding of the appeal of ritual to dissatisfied evangelicals.—Michael McGowan
