Christian Vision Project
An Upside-Down World
Distinguishing between home and mission field no longer makes sense.

In 2007, CT and our sister magazines will be tackling a new "big question" with the Christian Vision Project, our ongoing series exploring major issues facing the church in the 21st century. In 2006, ...

This article really opened my eyes to modern evangelism and has motivated me to finish my efforts to be a missionary. Wow, I forwarded this to everyone I could think of:)

Awesome article. The mission field is often in our own back yard, literally. I pastor a UM Church in an urban area in Ohio. Behind the church building are apartments inhabited by Somali refugees many of whom come to our rear building for English and acculturation classes. We desire to love these mostly Muslim men and women into a relationship with Jesus Christ. At the same time, a Mexican missionary pastor lives in the church's parsonage, helping our denomination reach out to latino immigrants. We are called to make disciples for Jesus Christ, each and every day, where ever we are. The mission field has come to us! God truly desires that all people confess Jesus Christ is Lord!

Five star rating. Has a prophetic message the church, both South and North, East and West, needs to hear. Writes like a poet, cuts like a prophet, sees the big picture like an apostolic worker. The article is as radical and sound as the revolutionary Copernican theory (for its time) that the earth revolves around the sun. We think God's purposes revolve around us. Chris calls us to rethink our lives and worldviews, the way we do church and mission, recognizing that we need to shift back to understanding that our lives revolve around God's Kingdom, not the other way around.

An excellent article on Mission & Evangelism. I have been challenged in a new way. Praise God for this.

Sometimes we ask God to be part of ours plans, when it must be inverse. How can I be co-worker? is the right question. I´ve some brothers here in Brazil that are going to deep in idolatry Brasil. In our own country we have a big field, even in US that are re-discovering the power of cross. Sorry about my English, it is my second language. I decided to look more mission over seas...

Magnificent. A wonderful recapturing of the essence of the gospel, in its relation to our calling as Christians and as church. Would that this evangelistic-holistic approach could help us to rid usof our ethnocentrism andhuman-centerededness.

Perhaps after wandering in the wilderness of national churches, denominational fences, we have begun to return to the first century and realize the prayer of Jesus in John 17. To realize we have one commssion, one Lord, one baptism and one goal for our lives. It is not to build great buildings as places to worship, but to expand the kingdom into millions of multiracial, multicultural, multipolitical temples of the living God and send them out to replicate them selves a hundred fold. Indeed this is a five star rated piece, thank you.

i finally found an article t hat i can use to share to my church to see and study what MISSION is all about in a very BASIC way such this... I am a missionary as well in remote places and yes, i agree to one brother who said, mission field IS WHERE YOU ARE...need not to look far or fartherrrrrr.... because from where we are there are SOULS PERISHING so when it is like this... THATS MISSION FIELD! TO GOD BE THE GLORY ALONE!

Everyone is a missonary. Look around your neighborhood. Wheather it is an apartment complex, subdivision, or a series of grass huts-THIS IS YOUR MISSION FIELD!

Knew of the theme and trend in a general sense - insightful and thought provoking. Decided to buy Chris Wrights Book.

Basically, a provocative 5 star. I wish that all our churches and mission leadership would give this work highest priority in their planning. How wonderfully his thesis ties in with the core of Warren's Purpose Driven Life-- that we are to regularly pray to seek and fulfill His purpose not our own! s

This article really makes me think through "mission". Sounds like I need to get myself right with God so I can be better used by Him for HIS mission!
