Christian Coaches Face Off for Super Bowl XLI
The God of Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith isn't just for Sunday.

For many people, football is religion. Superstar players are deified, weekly games are strictly observed, and everyone—devoted fan or not—watches the Super Bowl.

But for Tony Dungy and Lovie ...

This piece of news is huge for young people. Christianity is relevant in all areas of life. Dungy & Smith are outstanding examples of excellence that Christians can display in and out of the home and church.

I suspected both Lovie Smith and Tony Dungy were Christians by their behavior. I was very pleased the learn they are Christians. I thrills me to see God blessing godly coaches. It is inspiring. We need more people like them in professional sports.

It's always good to hear Christianity exposed and Jesus Christ proclaimed in the mainstream again...

I wonder how many of the many previous coaches are surprised to hear that they aren't Christian.

Praise God, I think it is wonderful that there is men out there in special postions that love God.

If we truly believed in our Lord Jesus Christ, we would go to Church on Sundays, "a day of rest" not football, and money. A time for family. Like the world today that is more concerned, with TV, sports, and partying. But then that is the West. This is our God. Money, Money, Money...

We need more leaders like these men. Our young people need role models and they sure can find it in these men.

I don't care what color their skin is. All that matters is that they are faithful to Jesus Christ.

All WE can say is "THANK GOD!!!!" It's wonderful to hear there are still GOD-LOVING/Living people in famous positions for people to emulate in this CHRISTIAN - HATING media/country. Actually, it would be AWESOME if BOTH teams won!!!

I'm happy for the two super bowl coaches. Whoever wins is o.k. for me. I like both of them equally well. I know each will direct his team to the best of his ability. Good luck to both of these great coaches. Sincerely Joe Wagner

I think it is great to have two coaches who are proud to be christians and to live their faith.

Thomas O'Brien   Posted: February 04, 2007 12:03 PM
I was never a big fan of athletics , and even less of football and basketball. But to have two coaches who carry their faith from church to the locker room. Both of these guys should be on the Hour of Power with Robert Schuller.

Ray   Posted: February 04, 2007 11:45 AM
It sure is good to know that there are God loving people who are getting the media attention they deserve. May God bless them both.

No matter who wins the Super Bowl, both of these men are winners in God's Game of Life. As a middle school teacher in Slidell, Louisiana, I know first hand that our young people need more Christian role models such as Coach Dungy and Coach Smith who are not afraid to profess their faith in God. Unfortunately, with all the pre-game hype, the major media outlets are limiting their discussion of these coaches' Christianity and unique lifestyle among the NFL. May God bless both of these men and their teams.

Thanks be to God for bringing us these two men. May He bless them and their families greatly, and their teams.
