Why Muslims Follow Jesus
The results of a recent survey of converts from Islam.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," Charles Dickens said about the time leading up to the French Revolution in A Tale of Two Cities. The same could be said today of Christian witness ...

The reasons for conversions are exactly the ones that I gave in my new book (Memoirs of an American Teacher:From Iran to Sudan, XulonPress.com). When I first began to write home of conversions after healings and dreams, or write of the differences in the love and caring shown by Christians, I was afraid that a sceptical public taught that all gods are the same, would not believe me.

When some one sees the light it is clear indication that someone has prayed, I would like say to all believers that our prayers will help some one to meet his saviour, North africa needs our prayers so that our neighbors can face the truth which can set them free Central africa needs more workers, missionaries among our neighbors

Such articles are needed in nowadays press. It is a balanced one and who has this task let him be encouraged and put his words on paper for those who are from the other side of the river. They need our saviour like us. All of us are sinners and He is the only way. We have a warfare with the unseen sometimes and with the seen ones as been mentioned above. His blessings

I hate to bear bad news... but the Muslim percentage is going to continue to increase and the Christian percentage decrease. "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Mat 7:14 NIV). We will not win all Muslims... we will win but a fraction... Nevertheless we still must go into all the world preaching the gospel... that is our mandate, and the least we can do for our Savior!

The note that relatively more of the Muslim respondents (27%) know personally and firsthand who Jesus Christ is, through their visions and dreams, than the multitude of their Christian counterparts is a cause for praising God!

K. Cook, you are very misguided. If you think for one minute that this was only about Bin Laden, then you will find yourself wondering what happened to your country. I pray for you and those like you. What we are about to see is a spiritual war. Whether you choose a side or not is your free will.

Al Hamdu LIllah! Praise God Almighty. Dr. Woodberry did an awesome job recaping that no one can stop the truth of God in the Injeel. Truth is clearer than error. It is a bleesing to see Muslims love and follow Jesus the Messiah.

This is absolutely nothing to do with the poll I clicked on to respond to. 'How often do you think about heaven.' And I can't see that poll anywhere. Is this a con to get people on to this subject? And it does not do justice to the star rating for the moslem topic! And I have ruined my chances to contribute further on the muslim topic once I have read the article!

Excellent and most informative article. I am sure this will help me when talking to or counselling Muslim people, be they seeking or curious about christianity. Thanks

Uh, actually the "proof" that Jesus is the Way, is the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit -- Jesus is the Way whether people acknowledge Him or not. Conversion doesn't "prove" anything because the mormons, jw's, muslims, hindus get conversions as well. Further, they use conversion to justify what they believe.

K. Cook, it is very much a Muslim vs. Christian issue, ultimately. Some of the direct reasons for 9-11, as a particular act, were a response to the U.S. presence in the Middle East, but bin Laden and the Islamofascist worldview is that all land is Allah's and that non-Muslims - nay, even some Muslims that aren't as radical - are enemy occupants in need of a sound supplanting. In the extremist forms, Islam and politics are one and the same. What we may see as a political act is very much a spiritual one in bin Laden's eyes.

Addessed to K Cook: If bin Laden was all that concerned with the plight of the Palestinians, why didn't he spend some of his inherited millions in relieving their suffering instead of killing over 3,000 Americans (including not a few American Muslims) in NYC, Washington and Pennsylvania? In fact, non of the Arab/Muslim countries really care about the Palestinians. The Saudis could wipe out the Palestinian's poverty and replace the slums and lack of sewer systems in a year with the great wealth that they invest in spreading militant Islam. But they obviously do not really care (in spite of the Islamic value on caring for the poor). The surrounding Islamic countries, Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon, obviously want absolutely nothing to do with their Palestinian "brothers and sisters." They do not care. It is the generousity of the "Christian" European nations, the US, and even Israel, that has kept the corrupt Palestinan regiemes afloat all these years.

Although it is probably true that terrorism coming out of Muslim populations is more about occupation than religion, violence does indeed spill over into religious expression at times, and churches in Muslim regions have felt the effects of Muslim resentment of Western occupations, since Christians are often associated with the West. What I especially appreciate in this article is the encouragement for seeing Muslims as people for whom Jesus died. There is so much demonization of Muslims and hatred toward Muslims being expressed in conservative circles of Christians--a problem that hinders true Christian witness. Woodberry demonstrates that for Muslims to come to Christ, they must see Christ in His people. We need more articles like this.

May this article be a challenge to those Christians living in areas near Muslim populations. Our testimony (daily walk) can be very important in winning them for Christ! May we be found faithful in showing God's love to our neighbors, and actively seek ways to build relationships with them. I worked ministering to Muslims for nearly 10 years, the best, scariest, most spiritually difficult and most rewarding 10 years of my life. Please be open to God's leading in this area.

Most of the information I've known about reaching out to Muslims has been anecdotal experiences shared by pastors. I greatly appreciate having some statistics behind the stories. It's great to know that despite the lack of obedient Christians who are called to Muslim countries and are too afraid to go, God is working among His Muslim children to bring them to Jesus.

K. Cook   Posted: October 24, 2007 12:42 PM
"The anti-Christian part of the Islamic resurgence ..." burst ... into everyone's living room on September 11, 2001, leaving victims and sometimes churches in its wake"?" That's a load of fertilizer. 9/11 was not about Muslim vs. Christian; it was bin Laden's outrage at US military bases in Saudi Arabia and the plight of the Palestinians. Read the transcripts of his statements and you won't find a Muslim vs. Christian reference or justification for his actions.

This is the first time I've seen information like this. Thank you for creating such a survey and posting the results.

Virginia   Posted: October 24, 2007 12:19 PM
Thank you for sharing the results of this survey. God loves our Muslim brothers and sisters so much that he appears in visions, dreams and miracles! And it's beautiful to see Jesus be such an attractant. It just goes to show that our God can blast through all obstacles (with or without us). Amen. :)
