Jesus said, "Blessed are you when men cast insults at you & persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely on account of Me. Rejoice and be glad for your reward in heaven is great." I know by God's promise I will one day meet my sister in heaven and we will rejoice over God's good grace. Meanwhile, let's lift up those who "know not what they do" & those who consider "Christianity a disease." God loves them too and waits for them to turn their heart toward Him. CT - Thanks for giving voice to the voiceless.

I think you have lost the plot. This is about our persecuted brothers and sisters that are torured for being a Christian. They are locked up in shipping containers and left in the middle of the dessert and have to endure the unlivable conditions that the dessert delivers. Why? Because they love Jesus. All they ask of us is to Pray for them. Our beloved Brothers and Sisters are persecuted for being christian. No trial, no court no judges.......just a love of God. May God bless them and there families.

You have missed the point. These beloved people have been killed for being a Christian. No other reason. They continued to be persecuted for believing. They are locked up in metal shipping containers and left in the desert with all the extreme weather conditions that the desert has to offer. All they ask is for pray for strengh and those left with out a father, pastor or husband/wife. Pray for them, they are our brothers /sisters in Christ.

If Eritrea is a cradle of Christianity than what is the problem with all Christians being there, and, just what are muslims doing there then. Who are the real invaders if Entrea is a cradle of Christianity. Why does Eritrea's government feel it has the right to decide how anybody worships AS LONG AS THEY ARE PEACEFUL. Its none of the gov's business but as citizens it is the business of Christians in how their government is run. The Nazis denied their attempt at Jewish genocide but the proof was fortunately seen by millions of non-Nazis and the people living around these camps knew what was going on but also denied it just like you guys. America's illegals are citizens of other countries not U.S. citizens (and they're still in the U.S. because they choose to be). Your converts are Entreians citizens. It is obvious that different religions do not live peacefully side by side in Entrea judging from the gov's control through laws and different treatments of and control of religions.

Haben, Cultural Patriot Thank you for this insight into the thinking that has caused a dear fried of mine; kind, gentle and working selflessly to help the people around him, to be thrown into prison (for the very beliefs that have caused him to be kind and selfless). After reading this I understand that Eritrea views him as a disease to be wiped out. We dehumanize what we fear but there are faces and families attached to what is happening in Eritrea. No one wants you to lose your cultural identity. If our cultures, either yours or those in Western nations, are not strong enough in themselves to withstand the cultures we come into contact with, then what does that say about our cultures? The Eritreans are an amazing people with a proud heritage - this is stronger than any influence they may feel coming from someone holding a Christian belief. Christians can't hurt you but the fear that they will can destroy the very culture you are attmpting to save.

This ballony, nonsens to me. No torture in Eritrea. report on Abu Graib or Guantanomo if you are truly intereted in educating about religously-motivated toruture. There is no such thing as "Adi-Nefase military confinement facility outside Assab" or we never heard of "a military camp outside the town of Adi-Quala." FACTS: 1) All enter and intra-religious mayhem occur on Eritrea's immediate neighbors only (Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda) but you LOVE to vilify Eritrea 2) The fact you focus on "Christian repression" reflects your thinly veiled political bias and fanaticism against non-christian religions 3) Eritrea is a cradle of Christianity. Yet, at the same time, manages to live in complete harmony with its muslim citizens. So your constant vilifying is a classic case of a kettle calling a pot black. I'm sure you'll be judged by Christ for your lies and crimes one day.

Haben, Cultural Patriot...does protecting your people and culture from foreign influrences really have to mean torturing and killing those of your own people who disagree with you? Do you not agree that, in any culture, whether American, European, or African, cruelty is degrading to those who practice it?

Cultural Patriot   Posted: November 09, 2007 12:15 PM
Haben, agreed, ... a nation, its people and culture have the right to protect itself from foreign influence, that includes foreign religions and ideologies. If Americans can be anxious about the influx of Hispanic 'illegals', and Europeans are frightened of Muslim minorities in their midsts, ... so we can be apprehensive of those who start believing in a foreign god, ... if America can enact laws to 'secure the border' and Euros can deport Muslims and Gypsies, we can start clamping down on so-called converts to Christianity. If Americans and Euros can view the influx of Hispanics and Muslims as a disease akin to the AIDS virus, than we should view Christians as a disease as well, more akin to Cancer, metastasizing and ultimately killing the host society, as it did the Roman Empire. Say what you will Christians, we have a right to protect our Culture and Way of Life.

It is not of concern to Eritreans as a whole, so why is it of concern to you?
