Everyman Meets Jesus at Jack-in-the-Box
A Moody prof's unlikely spiritual journey.

Let's not forget John 14:5 where Thomas asks Jesus, "how can we know the way?", next verse, Jesus said, "I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through me." He didn't say the church was the Way, but He is. Finally, just don't take my word for it; be like the Bereans (Acts 17:11) and investigate for yourself to see if this is so.

Apparently you missed the Pope's statement. The Church is THE Church. Jesus did not come to create a new religion. The Church of Peter, et al., is the Chuch of Jesus. Any variation is just that. It is not to say that people who do not follow Church teachings are sinners or non-Christian, they are just cafeteria Catholics or non-Catholics. Big deal. The kingdom of heaven has many mansions.

Point of order: The Pope does not claim that the Catholic Church is the "only" true church. Elements of truth exist in many churches -- including Jack in the Box. :) To deny that is to insult the faith of countless non-Catholics and to misrepresent the teaching of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church.
