Vatican Says Baptisms Must Use Traditional Trinity
Those "in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Sanctifier" are invalid.

Baptisms performed in the name of a gender-neutral Trinity are not true baptisms, the Catholic Church's highest doctrinal authority decreed on Friday (Feb. 29).

A statement by the Vatican's Congregation ...

Is not JESUS the "Name Of" -the Father, Son and Holy Ghost?????? This is what the disciples/apostles thought on baptism, starting in the book of the 'actions of the apostles' , first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. There is NO baptisms ever in the bible done in 'TITLES'-father son and holy ghost.....only in JESUS NAME!

It blows my mind to know that Jesus came and siad himself that he revealed the father's name to his disciples and also Zech. 14:9 says that the Lord's name is one! The word Trinity is not in the bible because it's not biblical Hear oh Isreal; The Lord our God is one! Not three! Father, Son, Holy Spirit are titles of God in action! Jesus siad to baptize in the name, not names, not titles, not repeat these words but he siad " in the name of" How crazy is it that we say we believe the bible and leave the Name out! One name for salvation, word, deeds and it is JESUS! Wake up People! Through his name they that believe on him should recieve remission of sins! JESUS said in Revelations to the churches to hold on to his name! Read Isiahah 9:6, Colossains 2:8-9, John 5:43,14:9,26,Luke24:47,1 corinth. 6:11! There is none other given than Jesus name! It's time to throw away Philosophy and take on the name Every onethat was baptized in the bible was baptized in JESUS name!

Whose baptism, for heaven's sake, -- still John's (water) or Jesus Christ's (Holy Spirit)?

Fundamentalists often criticize the Catholic Church’s practice of baptizing infants. According to them, baptism is for adults and older children, because it is to be administered only after one has undergone a "born again" experience—that is, after one has "accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior." At the instant of acceptance, when he is "born again," the adult becomes a Christian, and his salvation is assured forever. Baptism follows, though it has no actual salvific value. In fact, one who dies before being baptized, but after "being saved," goes to heaven anyway. Since the New Testament era, the Catholic Church has always understood baptism differently, teaching that it is a sacrament which accomplishes several things, the first of which is the remission of sin, both original sin and actual sin—only original sin in the case of infants and young children, since they are incapable of actual sin; and both original and actual sin in the case of older persons.

Both proposed baptisms are incorrect. In the first century, when the apostles established God's doctrine; everyone was baptised in Jesus's name. Read Acts 2:38 and the rest of the book of Acts. Not one of the apostles ever baptized in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit (which didn't come about until the 2nd cousil of Nicea, afer 325 A.D.). We all need to be baptized in the name of Jesus to identify with the one who died on the cross for us. I encourge those reading this to really study the King James Version Bible. Read Isaiah 28:9 this is what we must lean upon in order to understand the word of God. Also, read 2 Corin 13:1 Paul is using biblical principles to help us understand the authority of God's word and his anointed. We can not take one scripture out of the bible and say, "That's it, we got it!" Let the Bible interpret the Bible, man can't lean on his own understanding.

Peter explained what happens at baptism when he said, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). But he did not restrict this teaching to adults. He added, "For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him" (2:39). We also read: "Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name" (Acts 22:16). These commands are universal, not restricted to adults. Further, these commands make ar the necessary connection between baptism and salvation, a connection explicitly stated in 1 Peter 3:21: "Baptism . . . now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ." http://www.catholic.com/library/sacraments.asp

Much of the argument that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not "Christians" is centered on that church's refusal to accept the Neo-Platonic descriptions of God that are contained in creeds created in the 4th and 5th Centuries, because those pagan notions have no direct foundation in the New Testament. Indeed, the contradiction between the three divine beings described in the Bible, including the embodied and resurrected Son and his Passion, and the unitary being derived from pagan philosophy, that has no body at all and no passions, is simply called a "mystery" and left unresolved. Yet here we have Protestant and even Catholic congregations playing fast and loose with the identity of the members of the Godhead. Those who feel impelled to revise the names of God apparently think they have authority to redivide God along their preferred lines of demarcation, and to neuter Him as well. Those who do so are leaving the Bible far behind.

Catholic baptism is not valid anyway. By the linguistic meaning of the word, baptism means immersion, never sprinkling or pouring. Any Greek student knows that. AND, it is reserved for repentant believers. Babies cannot understand that they are sinners and need Jesus to be their Saviour. Again, the Vatican, needs to know God says what He means, and means what He has said in His Word.
