WRESTLING WITH ANGELS
Carbonated Holiness
Laughter is serious business.

Recently, I threw out three boxes worth of my kids' Sunday school crafts. I felt heartless and vaguely evil. But really, one can only store so much Fun Foam in a single house.

Still, there was one piece ...

For a great Bible A Study with interesting application (Mark 8: 14-30), coupled with a unique sense of humor on the part of Jesus Christ, find out why Jesus laid His hands TWICE instead of the usual once to heal a blind man after He led him out of the village for a purpose? Your good and loud laughter means you got the answer right!

Psalm 16:11 In His presence there is fullness of Joy, Psalm 23:5 He anoints are heads and are cups runneth over. It's that Laughter that comes from the wells of Salvation. The well of Living water, 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. That life giving water is in the presence of the Lord. "Drink" Jesus said, Drink !

As A Christian Comedian, I am always amazed as, at every concert I do, I see people who come in with the burdens of gas prices, mortgage problems, very tired and discouraged people. It is wonderful when they hear the joy of a Christian walk and how Jesus can shoulder the workload. Their eyes brighten, their smiles reappear. God gave all (well, most) of us a sense of humor. Don't you think that God wants us to use it? Laughter may be the best stress reducer ever created, and I am honored and humbled to be one of the many Christian Comedians and writers that have taken this path.

Laughter is too often left out of discussion in regard to Worship. Laughter is not limited to humor. Laughter may be one of the most honest and highest expressions of true joy. A study of the scriptures regarding joy and our response to God may reveal it is not a great leap of faith to consider laughter as an integral element of true worship. We talk about Jesus weeping. I believe there were also times of laughter. Perhaps laughter was one of the missing elements when the Psalmist cried out as recorded in Psalm 51:12 - "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit". - RKM
