Methodists Vote To Retain Policies on Homosexuality
But some international delegates oppose denomination's anti-homophobia push.

The United Methodist Church held to its traditional rules on homosexuality Wednesday (April 30), refusing to support or celebrate same-sex unions and maintaining language that calls homosexual activity ...

We as christians have forgotten that we are living in a period of grace. God hates the sin not the sinner. The time of God's judgement has not arrived. We as christians are called to hate the sin but to love the sinner and brinning the sinner into the flock and santification, we are not called to be judge, jury, and executioner. Read the Bible and be educated or we will be judge for not giving compension to the sinner. Remember, " he that has no sin cast the first stone". The Bible clearly says, "...he that states that he is not a sinner is not truethful". Hate the sin not the sinner!

This is so sad. We, as North Americans, have forgotten what the Gospel is all about. Every day the message gets a little more diluted, polluted and twisted; we pick and choose which parts of the Bible we like and dismiss anything that conflicts with how we want to live our lives. If every Christian who has fallen for the misinformation the gay lobbyists have crammed down our throats would go and visit one of those churches in Africa, or anywhere where the church lives under persecution or hardship, it might alter their perspective just a little. If just one gay man would step up and tell the truth about what the homosexual lifestyle actually entails, most people would be shocked and horrified and there would be no one--Christian or otherwise--who would consider it a 'normal' or 'acceptable' lifestyle. The Methodist conservatives have their work cut out for them.

Once again I am proud to be a United Methodist. Well done.

Congratulations to our Methodist friends in having courage to do the right thing, we continue to pray for you that you remain in the Light. It is interesting how some think God should change, to accommodate our chosen lifestyle, rather than accepting His guidance, and conforming to His Word. Homophobia is a word created by the homosexual agenda, to transmit their illness onto individuals that do not agree with their agenda. We, as Christians, do not fear the blight of homosexuality, because we have God as our ally. We do, however, pity and pray for those who have let this malady consume their lives. We hope their efforts to push their agenda onto the rest of the world, do not poison the minds of our children, because it is our children who are truly under attack.

Kudos to Matt: agreed. Black Evangelist Tom Skinner said that when we have the Word without the Spirit we have Legalism; when we have the Spirit without the Word we have Emotionalism. How do we separate the two? We cannot; we dare not.

Very interesting. This is the same denomination that has spent lots of money with television ads telling everyone about their "open hearts" and "open minds". I think all they really want is for gay-bating people who call themselves Christians to simply open their wallets. Time to pull the tv ads, Methodists!

Copngratulations to the Congonese Methodist Pastors who still recognised God's truth when the see it. Makes the western liberal Methodists, looks like gullible fools. Another example of the saying 'Don't be so open-minded that your brains fall out'. It's not suprising that the African wing of the Methodist Church is growing rapidly while Western Methodist wilts under the pressure of liberal secularism. John Wesley would be turning in his grave.

"refrain from judgment regarding homosexual persons and practices as the Spirit leads us to new insight" So this was the issue they voted on. It's rather silly to think the Spirit will give us 'new' insight that is contrary to the Word of God. It may be insight, but it certainly is not from the Spirit. Since the Spirit of God is the author of the Word of God, it really is rather foolish to think that the Spirit will lead us in doctrines contrary or doctrines tending to divert from the Word of God.

I'm so happy to read that the Methcdists have again succeeded in fighting off this apostasy. None of us can expect it to go away - the enemy's plan to is press and fight and invoke chaos wherever he can. Our plan must be to seek God and pray! Our plan must be to uphold the Word of God as it is written, and not be lead by our emotions. God's way are just and true. No homosexual needs fear a Christian. Christ''s ways are love. And love that is true brings life and health and peace - not mere sympathy for things which we may not understand, but which nonetheless lead to death.

God has given us laws to follow if we decide to disobey then we will suffer the same consequences of the Hebrews who rejected God's laws and was carried of to Babylon for 70 years, sin is sin and must be judged not by the devil's advocates but by God's advocates the Methodists must take a stand for what John Wesley stood for, What would he say if he saw his flock compromising their stand for the word of God, God is not mocked what we sow we also reap. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against principilties, against powers against the rulers of darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places.Eph. 6:12 MP

I believe it is time for the Methodist Church to split.

The morality of the United States makes a pigpen look clean! I don't understand what there is to debate in the first place.Read your Bible! And may I suggest actually studying your Bible daily! What ever happened to sexual purity? What happened to Christian Ethics? Praise be to God, Satan failed in church today........
