Worse Than Ever
Christians knew the attacks were coming, but no one knew they would be this deadly.

Like many people in the eastern India state of Orissa, Nikhil Kumar Kanodia knew an attack on Christians was imminent. But unlike others, Kanodia was a police superintendent. When he declared that Hindu ...

What is happening in India and Iraq is a mass execution of Christians that shows parallels to the holocaust of the Jews. And 60 years later the world is responding the same... the media plays down the atrocity and the Church is doing little to intervene. HAVE WE NOT LEARNED ANYTHING FROM HISTORY? Why isn't the world horrified at this extermination of persons based solely on their religious beliefs? I'm most aghast that my Jewish neighbors are turning the other way as if it doesn't exist. They, of all people, should have a heart for this type of inhumane treatment! How sad the state of this world and its peoples hearts that the torture and death of Christians overseas is being justified and accepted!

It must be important to clarify that the Violence in Karnataka was primarily due to state supported police agression on the peacefully protesting Christian protestors who were well within the confines of the church when they were barbarically attacked by the state police under orders of the right wing chief minister of Karnataka. As such if any stone pelting occured it is because the police who were supposed to keep the peace provided covering fire for Bajrang dal activists who attacked the Church. Christians are a very small micro minority in India and as such violence is logically very difficult if not impossible which is why we are conveniently attacked in the first place. May the blood of martyrs renew the Church

I claim the blood of Jesus Christ on this situation and pray the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse the evil going on in India against Christians. It is an outrage that in this 21st century, when so many of our resources have gone to India, there should be such bestiality among those people whom we help from the United States. Lord God of heaven, have mercy on us. It also proves that all the communication we have today does not promote love for neighbor but hate. India has a Hollywood which obviously instructs people poorly. It shows how these people who have no trust or knowledge of the True God behave just as the thugs we are breeding in our own American schools. And all those who say that Christianity is not to be taught there just don't know that Jesus commanded us to bring his name to the ends of the earth. We are just doing our duty, lovingly, like Mother Theresa of Calcutta. May this blood shed seed the Church in that part of the world. Amen

Saji tells Uncle Bob   Posted: October 10, 2008 4:36 PM
Saji : 1. People in tribal villages of India (e.g. some part of Orissa) are extremely poor, have no education and live primitively. They are not sophisticated to behave well in times of crisis. 2. There have been positive changes both in the lifestyle and livelihood of some of them due to the sacrificial ministry of Christian missionaries. 3. Apparently there has also been a number of conversions due to inducements. For example when a tribal comes to Christ and becomes a church member, the Church also helps him/her economically where by the converted tribals enjoy better socio-economic status as compared to the non-converted. This induces some of the no-converted to convert for the benefits that accompany conversion. 4. This kind of induced conversion led to a mix of Christian population in many parts of the country: "Rice Christians" (those who changed their faith for livelihood) vs. the genuinely changed lot. 5. Militant Hinduism understands conversion only from an induced standpoint

I am an Indian Chriatian and am ashamed of what is happening in my country. We Christians are soft targets as we are known to turn the other cheek and suffer silently. I think the International Community should speak up for us.

Why is the media not covering this and reporting it on the nightly news? May God Bless the Indian Christians for their faith and provide shelter and protection for them! God Bless our Nation as we face the scariest time in our lifetime!!!

what can we do to get the attention of the world on this situation??

The Hindus are generally peaceful people but this time round they have been incited to violence by Indian politicians. Hinduism is a religious aparthied system to keep the Dalits forever in that position. The anti-Christian Western press chooses to remain quiet whenever Christians are attacked and killed. Recently some Muslim mobs rioted in Kashmir and a few of them were killed. This was promptly reported in the Westren press and covered by the BBC World Service. We have to rely more and more on the Eastern European countries like Russia and her allies to protect the Christian-value system as they have increasingly returned to their Orthodox-Christian faith. With increasing numbers of converts in East-Asian countries like Korea and China, and also in Africa and South America means that the West will soon be anti-Christian and possibly, Islamic.

Ever since India became Independant The Christian community has lived harmoneously with the other communities. But when BJP took centre stage the hidden agenda of making the Country a Hindu State has taken primary mission of this Party. It has consistantly tried to fuel divisive methods to highlight this issue. its leaders have gone on record saying that it will do it. it's fringe wings like VHP,Bajrangdal, RSS, SEVA Bharati, Durgavahini etc have been working to destroty other communities who profess another religion than Hinduism. Which was never an organised religion till these parties began to propagate its tenets vigourously by various media. like TV serials depicting gods in real life stories. Though Hindu religion is practiced by majority of people in India it had no organised religious activities. but now with continouous exposure in the media. Christian community wants to live harmoniously even today. But the fundamental groups do not allow them to do so.

The world is simply too silent about this. I wonder how much he secular media is covering the stories? Or do people in general simply don't care?

Surjit, Delhi   Posted: October 09, 2008 2:01 PM
Kumar or who ever he is, is speaking the mind of the Hindus as a whole. Such is the attitude and treatment of Hindus mted to the minorities in India. In fact Christians has contributed to better India in Education, human values, good ethics and charity to the poor in excellence. A man like Kumar are people who are very ungrateful and do not love India. They want India to be divided into mang fragments. These are the people who do not know what democracy is and what secular is. Such are the people who brings chaos to the great Nation India. If he so desire for better India he must come out openly for debate and show us his contribution to the nation. If not let him stay guite and be a good citizen and never talk about some issue like relegion. Surjit, Delhi

My prayers are with Christians in India. God is going to do a mighty miracle and bring revival through the blood of these maytrs. His Gospel will not be stopped.

Rushmore   Posted: October 09, 2008 1:19 PM
It never ceases to astound why some people cannot make the 'connection' between confidence in their own religion and the reason for opposing a different religion.

Gregory Chase   Posted: October 09, 2008 1:12 PM
And if you believe Mr. Kumar, you should believe in the tooth fairy. There is some very interesting things that he says showing his militancy and complete disreguard of his country's own constitution. Once again the statement rings true, "The only way for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing." I, for one, will try to do anything I can to help my brothers in India have their rights protected from those who have no reguard for human life, let alone the civil rights embodied in their constitution. Dalits are converting because they see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ elevates their lives and frees them from the brutal Hindu caste system that has crushed them for centuries. They, who dwelt in darkness, have been coming to the light which lightens every man who turn to the truth.

Santanu Kumar do not try to fool people by telling such lies. Christians never induldge in any violence of anykind anywhere. They are the peaceloving people. Christianity has come to India much before it spread to Europe and America. came to India 2000 years ago through Apostle St. Thomas. British ruled India for so many centuries. As you mentioned if there was forceful conversion then India should have been a Christian Country today. But the population of all denominations of Christians in India is only 2.3%. This clearly shows that your allegations are utterly false. Indian constitution gives fundumental right to practice, preach, profess any religion. It gives freedom to anybody to choose his religion. There is not even a one case of forcible conversion by christians in India today. Hindus in India are nice, non-violent, peace loving people. It is only the fundumentalist, sang parivar, rss/vhp/bd/bjp and such outfits deliberately create such tensions. Are you one of them ?

santanu kumar   Posted: October 09, 2008 10:16 AM
What u have published nothing but the false propaganda. Conversion is a burning issue here . Govt of India is planing to pass a law here to cheak conversion.By the name of Jesus Christ please cheak the coversion in India. What happened here all are the reaction of the murder of a Hindu Saint Laxmanananda Saraswati. The Christian terriorists killed him brutaly. Three person have been arested in this conection here who are Christian. Cruch hired some weopons from maioist for murder of 82 Yers Hindu Saint. Attack on Hindu Saints, Temples and lands will not be cheak,If conversion will not be stop then Christians will not be live here in peace. U have also not any right to interfere in affairs of India.
