In malaysia, I came across the church that my relative was attending. It was a very big church, but there was just no sign board, in case it offended the Muslims, We whould be fighting for the rights of Christians in Muslim Countries rather than spending so much effort to fight to take away gay marriages. Khan, the way you see it is wrong. Christianity sprang forth first as one sect of the many Judaisms of the first century (Pharisees, Saduccees, Essenes, Zealots, etc.). The early Christians were first and foremost Jews. Jesus was a Jew, the 12 Apostles were Jews, Paul was a Jew; you get the point. These early Christians believed that the promises of God to His People was fulfilled by Jesus when God raised him from the dead. Through Paul's mission to the Gentiles, Christianity got an influx of Gentile converts and eventually Christianity became predominently Gentile. At times in her history, she has forgotten her Jewish roots and sometimes persecuted Jews as well. This was unfortunate and Christians have to remember history and the mistakes of their religion. However you are not honest in your assessment of Christianity.

To: brent Vermillion, And Christianity is not intent on world domination?? Can't you see you Christians and Muslims are two sides of the same coin? I'm neither, and I despise both rather obnoxious Middle Eastern religions, so please allow me my two cents. The way I see it, Muslims and Christians are both bastards of Abraham (through Ishmael and Midian (gentiles), respectively) and for centuries have tried to supplant the Jews as The Chosen People. Both attempt to please God and usurp the mantle of 'The Chosen' by forcing the world (the rest of us innocents) to accept your domination. This domination takes the form of the 'Religion of Peace' nonsense of Islam, and 'Salvation through Christ' crap of Christianity. My two cents, thanks for reading

I've to admit that the middle east countries very rarely to accept human right especially in religion. In my country (Indonesia with Muslim Majority) these bad things has not been exposed by our media. The west always has been targeted to urges to respect the human rights but they rarely exposed and urges the middle east to respect the human rights. But praise the Lord the religion conversion and reconversion still acceptable although there are some Christian persecution in Indonesia, some of them legally by law such as Muslim-Christian marriages. Please pray for this. God bless u.

arah, please do not quote the bible unknowingly without understanding its true meaning. In the old testament, God gave these laws to moses because the people were demanding for a law to follow and simply because God was holy and cant stand sin, he gave these kinds of law that were hard to keep. But God had to, because he cant stand sin. But later God realised that men cannot stop sinning, so he sent jesus. Since then, men is no longer subjected to the LAW (that you pointed out) but my our faith in jesus.

While the verse quoted above from Deuteronomy states that it was the Old Testament law to kill those who enticed a Jew into worshiping foreign gods, Jesus said something totally different. Jesus said, "But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matt 5:44-45. Therefore, we, as Christians, are to show love toward and pray for those who would lead us to follow false gods and doctrine. When they try to lead us astray, we need to show them the error of their ways and lead them to the narrow path that leads to salvation.

And I thought this only happens in my own country here in Malaysia. Muslims every where has never fail to prove that they have a perverted sense of justice. What I can to do you, you cannot do to me. In our country, even proselytising to a Muslim is illegal based on civil law, while tax payers money are used to spread Islam in TV, radio and public schools. The funny thing is, only 60% of the countrymen are muslims while at the same time 90% of the tax payers are non muslim! What Nagy El-Sisi did has also been done here. The only difference is that, the father managed to convert all the children to Islam without the approval of the mother, and this is deem legal in the Islamic courts. And the worst thing is that the majority of the Muslims don't think that that is injustice....sigh...

arah, FYI, ever since Jesus Christ came 2k years ago, he changed everything, he said if nobody welcomes you, shake the dust off your feet and leave. In other word, if you wish to worship other gods, that's your business. In that particular context, the verse was specifically talking about the Israelites, the gentiles wasn't part of the redemption yet.

This is all too common in some Muslim countries (but not all). Egypt is especially bad. I think it is crazy when Muslims in the West cry discrimination when in their own countries human rights are rarely accepted.

Why didn't the Christian understand the bible and practise what is written. The Muslim are following the Quran and the Syariah. Have you come across the following in the bible: If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, tthat place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)

islam is a perverted religion that intends to have world domination. why would anyone want this?

anonymous   Posted: November 14, 2008 5:28 PM
I have to admit I do not know much about the religion of Islam, but this is a very common problem for families that have had inter-religious marriages, sometimes several generations ago. I am hoping, for the sake of religious freedom everywhere that this family will not suffer any longer for something they never knew existed.
