'The Perfect Hybrid'
At 26, Joshua DuBois has already been a pastor and a congressional fellow, and is now the President's faith-based point man.

At 26, Joshua Dubois has already rubbed shoulders with more religious leaders than most religious leaders will in their lifetime.

And he's starting to do a lot more of the same as President Obama's director ...

What a load of crap! If this were a really important subject of the Obama's this office would report directly to him instead of putting in under another office. This is just more fluff from the presidential office to try to make Christians think he cares. And if this DuBois was a real saved Christian he would have a real problem working for a man like Obama and all the very immoral things that are going in the nation now that the dems are in charge.

Just another sign of the apostasy mentioned in the Revelation. The gospel will always be divisive and no where are we commanded to be bogged down in political activities, we are to preach the gospel and make disciples, that separates us from most...

Does anybody know the scriptures? Ephesians chapter four says there is one Lord one faith one body one Spirit and one God, so what does interfaith have to do with The Church it is Apostasy right before your eyes and we are in the last days, God put a separation between Church and state so we can drink the pure water of the gospel of Jesus Christ and not the muddied water of politics and religion! Awake awake O Zion shake off the dust and put on the beautiful garments, arise and sit down O captive daughter of Zion, forsake your fathers house for the King desires your beauty

A point that must not be dismissed if we are to look at all the posibilties: Christianity in the US is dying, “a great falling away.” Many believe that God will raise up other areas. The most popular is Africa followed by China. Both have problems and the verdict is still out. 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition”

It will be interesting what Josh will say when there is a conflict of faith and politics? I hope he is not a yes man.

This sounds like a rather practical way of getting things done. It'll be something resembling almost interesting to see what happens from this.

Ironic, idahosugarbear. Christian faith and morals, and the Constitution of the United States, were under serious attack during the last eight years in the previous presidential election, no matter how much it tried to hold a religious poker face for the sake of electoral appeal, yet few self-described Christians spoke up -- and those who did were castigated as traitors and heretics. Unless, of course, somehow lying, cheating, lawbreaking, greed, torture and hatemongering have suddenly become compatible with Christianity, which used to boil down to love God, love your neighbor and treat others the way you want to be treated.

Good article; thank you Sarah. And we'll wish him well and be praying for him. Moreover, perhaps we'll remember Paul's charge to young Timothy... not to let people look down on his youth. [...although Tim was a well-seasoned protege]. Perhaps young Joshua will surprise us all with an innovative approach like shedding traditional defensive armor in favor of 5 stones... with adeptness to only need 1 actually. But good, bad or indifferent, clearly this is just more of the 'change' Obama promised to deliver... not unlike his pro-abortion changes. Btw, I'd be hard-pressed to tell you what the accomplishments of the last administration's OFBCI were. So let's give the young man a chance. [Josh, text me when u git a sec.]

Is my comment supposed to be on the article or the person? I don't know that this article was supposed to be a critique/endorsement of Obama politics. Best of luck to Josh in his endeavors in the new administration. To Ted's comments -I think it is important for men of faith to have influence in our leaders, especially Pres. Obama. Sarah - good job on your profile of Josh.

I have mixed feelings on this one. It is nice to have a Christian in the administration. On the other hand we have a president (and administration) that is making Bill Clinton looking like Billy Graham. At every turn, Christian morals and values are under attack. Indeed the constitution itself is under constant attack. You can't play in the mud and not get dirty.

So, he has no convictions.

The devil's second-best trick was the Constantinian Establishment. There should be no such thing as an 'Office of Faith-Based Initiatives'.

26 is much too young for any major government position. Can you imagine if Bush had appointed a mere kid, not Jim Towey, for the same job? Joshua has not lived long enough to have "experience" in anything other than being a kid. However, his age can be used to resolve a very important issue in the United States. Drawing on his faith, and drawing on his youth, he can implore his peers, "For God's sake, pull up your pants."

A man has been placed in this office who has the potential of being great assistance to the body of Christ in the United States, if he uses his influence well and properly, as inspired by God. He must realize as well that religious freedom and first amendment rights are being seriously attacked in America by the Gay-Lesbian agenda. His influence should help to forestall any laws and legislation that would muzzle the greater body of Christ in proclaiming the Gospel of Salvation, the Gospel of Christ to America and the world. He is in a position of being a "point man", and in the military, that was a dangerous job. I hope he remembers whose Army he is in as "point-man". When the greater body of Christ is effectively muzzled from teaching from the Bible without hindrance (esp. due to "hate crime" legislation), then the job Jesus gave the whole body of Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 is finished. Hope the "point-man" takes that knowledge to heart in serving his boss, Jesus, and his body.
