The Terminator movies—especially the first two—have stood out in the action genre for their ability to engineer compelling human drama into the captivating action. I'll admit it: I still tear ...
I thought that this movie had enough heart in it. I really enjoyed it and saw no major flaw in it. I didnt like that it had language in it though. I recommend this movie to anyone.

I think Timothy may owe the writer an apology here. "Get over yourselves?" This is all just opinion, you know? We'll all have different takes. I didn't agree with everything in the review but I agree the film disappointed. It was trite, shallow and doesn't add up if you think much about it. I am glad you liked the movie, Timothy, and saw things in it that the reviewer and I did not. I didn't see this as a "thinking person's film" at all. But I don't think I'm more right than you -- we just saw it differently. And by the way, I thought that copter crash was a bit fakey, too.

Great film! I Think that exploration of the main themes of the franchise is made on the level not lower than in T2. If we just kill people in order to win, then what is the difference between us and the machines? You say that theme about second chance is a theme that doesn't go very deep: but why then it has fallen to my heart so deeply?

This is a must see it's the best movie I've seen all year and I've seen a lot.

I liked the new Star Trek movie, but thought it was a little chaotic. However, I liked Terminator salvation even more.

I was bored by this film. As much as I love Speculative Fiction, this one had the most feel that they were milking the (cash) cow of the franchise even worse than Rise of the Machines (ROTM). Just as we're getting over the "take this cup from me" attitude from Connor in ROTM (and an almost perfect parody of the ambitious wife/mother in Clare Danes), now we Connor in Salvation, not as the obedient Son but taking on the role of Lucifer who defies command from above. Just to put icing on the cake, now we have Marcus as Saviour, condemned to die, resurrected, and in the process bridging the gap between being both fully Human and fully Robot. So why do we have Marcus giving his life up so that Connor gets to live again? Are we to make of this that Connor is nothing more than the heroic mortal, being helped by his T-series guardian angels so that he can have his own skin saved by saving Reese? Nothing to see here theologically for parallels. Just a mess.

Not a good film. The symbolism is so obvious that it feels like it was written for a first-year liberal arts film studies class. Avoid this film.

CT, why do you keep giving excellent, quality films terrible ratings? Just because a film doesn't fill all of your personal expectations doesn't mean it's the worst one ever.
T4 is an incredible film. It fits the series very well and gives a compelling account of John Connor's beginnings in the resistance. I recommend it to everyone.

I usually agree with most reviews on this site, but this one is way off the mark. One review I read stated that the movie was a huge letdown after Arnold. No way! Marcus blows Arnold out of the water. And speaking of Marcus... he is given a second chance to make amends and lays down his "life" for a friend. Which reminds me,
I'm glad we have a God who gives us a second chance. Scripture tells us that the human heart is desperately wicked. Marcus reminds us that we are all made in the image of God.

Please get over yourselves. This was a thinking person's film, if you took the time to reflect. Themes like destiny vs. free will were explored in new ways (for the film series) and what it means to be human, as well as loyalty, and trust. It was there in a solid way - you just had to have eyes to see and ears to hear. Of course it was different than the first three films; judgment day had come! Excellent exploration of time travel theme for geeks (like myself) and great action. (Complaining about a chopper crash no one else noticed is silly.) This was just as good as the first two if taken on its own terms.

Such a bad script. The dialogue was so bad it's funny. What was the point of making this movie?
They could have just made a video game. Because that's exactly what this movie feels like. Watching a video game.

I disagree with the review. Not every movie has to have some profound message and I thought the story was great. It did a good job of explaining how Connor becomes the leader of the resistance. I always wondered how that was going to happen. It also has one of the most intense action sequences I have ever seen. This movie completely raises the bar in the action adventure genre.

I agree. This flick was disappointing. I love post apocalyptic, I love robots, I love the Terminator franchise. When I was a kid I'd stare at the Terminator light gun game at my local roller rink and just fantasized about how cool it all was.
This just wasn't there. Good action, bad story.
Blegh.
