Christian Publisher Still Plans Kate Gosselin Book
Zondervan is advertizing a cookbook by the Jon & Kate Plus Eight star.

Should a Christian publisher still release a $30 book from one of the namesake stars of Jon & Kate Plus Eight promising "an inside look at one of America's most close-knit families" after the couple has ...

To NJH: I agree that we should lift this family up in our prayers because they certainly need prayers. But I don't think this would have happened if they hadn't opened their life up to the world. They were shown in the worst possible light and lured by money, money and more money. She spent more time publicizing her book than taking care of her children. She continually put down her husband on the show and generally looked and acted like he was a moron. It is a shame that they divorced but it is also a shame that they and their children were subject to the pressures of having a television camera in their home 24 hours a day. They messed up and the thing to do would have been to not divorce but work on their marriage with Jesus Christ as their confidante and guide.

I am saddened by the comments on this article. How can we judge this family based on a 1/2 hour weekly show and all the hyped up press? How can we judge them at all? We should all be praying for them and showing our "Christian" concern for the family. Have any of us been free of sin? Have any of us asked for forgiveness and gone right back to the same sin? I have been a fan for most of the shows run. My heart is saddened and I will continue to pray for this family. They opened their life to us and are trying to resolve issues while continuing to be open to their fans. I pray they both continue to seek God's grace during this difficult time. We all need to think about what Jesus would do or say. Enough sarcastic and judgemental remarks, please show more compassion for our brothers and sisters.

I'd be willing to bet she doesn't even cook; it's all part of the fake "mommy" media image.

Wow. When did Zondervan become classless?

What a world we live in! Use fertility treatments, have more babies at once than God planned for us to have at once, and you too can be a star, an expert, a celebrity. If they had adopted eight, if they had had eight one (or even two) at a time, would they be celebrities, and experts? The already large family that had several of their own, then adopted one, and then was contacted by adoption agency that adopted child's birth mother was pregnant and giving up new baby are bigger heroes. That last baby they were to adopt turned out to be triplets and they took all three and gladly traded the mini-van for a gas-guzzling 12 passanger van. By the way, knowing several large families of 6 and more, how does a mother of 8 young children have time to write books?

Zondervan, even if she wasn't really the best one to give advice on "how to craft family traditions that create happy memories," it would still be a worthless book. In fact, there are already enough books, the Bible for example. Please, give up.
