The Stoning Of Soraya M. exposes a dark side of Islam.

In recent years, Christians have grown more aware of social injustice around the world—poverty, AIDS, human trafficking, and so on. One issue that hasn't received as much attention is the oppression ...

PREACHERS, TEACHERS AND POLITICIANS Preachers, teachers and politicians Too many times turn out the same. Forecasting predictions of what lay ahead Confused by self-love, ego and shame. Forewarning of judgment and our own unawareness Blaming others for corruption and the mayhem of war They seek our endowment of revenue and support As volunteers e-mail or beat on our door. Thank God for each and every individual That prays for wisdom, repentance and grace. Not perfect though remorseful, repentant when wrong As their devotion radiates from their face. Listen and watch carefully the shepherds of man Judging them by what they practice not preach. Do they make you wonder about their purpose? As they communicate, inspire and teach. UNYIELDING HONOR WORLD WAR III Weakness invites moral plight, war and aggression Encouraged by mistrust, misjudgment and delay. All we love can be destroyed and transformed By the powers of darkness maneuvering our way. When something wicked stares us in the face To corrupt our morals, faith and resolve. God gives us courage to defend what’s right No matter the sacrifice or danger involved. Evil seeks to destroy the good in man And silence the memory of God’s law. It’s up to the faithful to stay unyielding Defending the liberty and justice of all. Our men and woman who serve in harm’s way Are the armor of what the free world depends on. Without their sacrifice of body and soul All that we stand for is gone.

THE MAD DOGS OF MAN Wherever dwell the mad dogs of man There is corruption, plunder and hate. In every city, town, or village Those who promote distrust deserve their fate. All are born as an innocent child Till mislead by others along the way. God has always loved his children Though it breaks His heart when they stray. The mad dogs of man never repent For they have no sense of shame or sorrow. Worshiping dominance and the dark side of life Abusing victims as if there were no tomorrow. God gives the will to sin no more And to overcome evil unwilling to cease. The mad dogs of man must be stopped Who murder, rape and destroy world peace. Samson, Solomon, and David Were chosen by God to stand tall. They faced great odds and the fear of death Refusing to ignore their call. The time has come for the good men of earth To band together to restrain the horde. Standing firm against tyranny where it exists Putting the mad dogs of

THE STONING OF WOMEN PAKISTAN There are those who still stone women And we all know who they are. They live in a world cursed by God Where they murder mislead and scar. They need no proof to denounce their wives Of adultery, betrayal and worthlessness. They hate all religions except their own As they promote fear, death and hopelessness. Never turn a blind eye toward wickedness Instead support its defeat and demise. Hearts consumed by the shadows of malice Are terrified of the righteous and the wise. The stoning of women is a performance from hell And any country that allows it, will fail. All men heed to the whispers of their soul May goodness, and compassion take heed and prevail. Throughout history all religions and their representatives have used their GODs as a license to do evil including but not limited Christanity. Mabye we should stop with the "religion" and deal with a unified front fighting evil with love for each other as Jesus would have it

The inferior status of women is enshrined in the teaching of Muhammad, the Hadith and Sharia. It is Islam itself which is at the root of such inhumanity. Individual Muslims are often kind and generous in their treatment of women, but Islam itself prescribes harsh penalties for any woman who transgresses or is seen to transgress the concept of honour which is crucial to all Islamic societies. It is Islam, the ideology itself, which is anti-women, anti-infidels, and ultimately and most terribly, anti-Christ.

Stephen Leonard asks the question that immediately came to my mind. "_A_ dark side of Islam"? How about _the_ dark side? Whether the politically correct among us like it or not, the God of the Bible insists over and over that he is the only true God and that any god which is not God as he reveals himself in his written Word (cf. Allah) is a false god. Religion based on one or more false gods cannot but have a very dark side. It brings death, sometimes physical, always spiritual (unless one repents and turns to the One LORD of Heaven and Earth).

Stephen Leonard, you took the words right out of my mouth!

The movie sounds spot on and I appreciate it being noted on this web site. For 12 years I have exclusively served a group of women who have lost their voices. I minister to mostly Evangelical clergy (95%+) and their spouses who have been in ministry an average of 19.8 years. My own wife and most of those to whom we minister today have been silenced by systemic/family dysfunction. The misuse of Scripture, subtle manipulation, unrealistic expectations, selfish men and Biblical illiteracy combine to pressure pastor’s wives to suffer silently while they minister to us and allow their husbands to speak as they wish. Many are deeply wounded, terribly lonely and without appropriate spousal support. None have suffered stoning but most are so wounded inside they have given up trying to be heard. Yes stoning is worse but we should know better than to hurt clergy spouses in the name of Christ. I guess I am reminded of the boulder and pebble or is it the log and the splinter?

Is there a "light" or "sunny side" of Islam?????

Dorothy's political correctness makes her unwilling to acknowledge that Islam abuses women. How does she suppose that culture ever justifies such heartlessness? She bears responsibility for their suffering by agreeing with those who wish to silence those who have no one to speak for them!

What has been happening to women in Islamic countries has more to do with culture than with religious belief. While we need to speak out in defense of the powerless, we need also to guard against smugness in the superiority of our own upbringing. Great historical injustices have been perpetrated in the name of Jesus Christ. Isn't there a saying somewhere about taking the plank out of our own eye? In most respects, Christian societies have made progress beyond the kind of blind tribalism that this film demonstrates. That progress is almost completely cultural, and has had nothing to do with our religious beliefs. We need to defend the Sorayas of this world without injecting our own cultural and religious chauvinism.
