I just downloaded the Christianity Today app but I don't see it on my iPad?

The Christianity Today app should show up on one of your iPad app homescreens. If you can't find the app, you can always go back into the iTunes store, search "Christianity Today" and re-download the app.

My Christianity Today app seems to have disappeared from the newsstand. What happened?

You may have installed the previous version of our iPad app, which is no longer available. Please search for "Christianity Today" in the app store and install our new and improved iPad app with a long list of feature improvements.

I paid for the old app in the newsstand, and downloaded the new app. Now I can't access my subscription in the new app. What should I do?

Please contact the Christianity Today customer service team directly. Call 1-877-247-4787 or email help@christianitytoday.com. We will make sure your in-app subscription is promptly restored.

I'm already a Christianity Today subscriber. How can I access my subscription on the iPad?

Current subscribers can access the iPad edition for free with two easy steps:

  1. Make sure you've activated your account at ChristianityToday.com/MyAccount. If you originally subscribed to Christianity Today from our website you should have already received an email with your account number and username. (Your username will be your email address).
  2. Download the Christianity Today iPad app, open it in the newsstand, and then tap the "Tap Here to Retrieve Your Login" header to retreive your password. You can then sign in by tapping the "sign in" link near the top left of the screen.

I'm a subscriber. I tried to sign in but nothing is happening. What should I do?

Please contact the Christianity Today customer service team directly. Call 1-877-247-4787 or email help@christianitytoday.com.

How do I download a magazine issue within the app?

If you are magazine subscriber, go to your library by tapping the library icon. The issues you are entitled to will be available. Tap "download" on the one you want. If you are not a subscriber, you can purchase individual issues or an annual subscription.

If you wish to access past issues, and have subscribed through our website, you have full access to all our past issues on ChristianityToday.com, including downloadable PDFs of each issue. (Remember: your password for the tablet app and the website are different)

How long should it take to download a magazine issue?

Typically, it will take less than five minutes to download an item in the app. If it takes longer, please contact us at help@christianitytoday.com.

What happens if I exit the app while an issue is downloading?

The download will pause until the app is re-opened and that item is tapped again. The issue will resume downloading from where it left off. If you want to ensure that the item downloads without interruption, you can disable the "auto-lock" function on your device, which is found under General Settings.

What happens when it is time to renew my subscription?

If you subscribed through the iTunes store, the 1-year subscription of Christianity Today will automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24-hours before the end of the current subscription period. iTunes will automatically charge your account at the same price you purchased your subscription at for each annual renewal period 24-hours prior to the end of the current period.

If I remove an issue from my iPad, can I get it back?

Yes. Simply find the issue in the Library under "available issues" and touch "download". The app will remember that you have already purchased it.

I deleted the Christianity Today app by accident. How do I restore my magazines?

If you were already a Christianity Today subscriber, sign in to the app again and then download available issues.

If you purchased single issues or a subscription through the app, tap on gear icon in the top right and then on "restore purchases." You will not be charged again for an item that you have already purchased.

What devices can the app be used with?

This app can be used on the iPad and iPad mini. Because of updates to the software, first generation iPads cannot access the app. There is also a Kindle/Android app now available. You can go here to download it: http://www.amazon.com/Christianity-Today-Magazine/dp/B00QSELHF4
