Currently touring to preview their September 8 album Welcome to the Masquerade, Thousand Foot Krutch had to cancel their gig last Friday at the Creation Northwest

Festival when frontman Trevor McNevan was rushed to the emergency room with appendicitis, resulting in a routine appendectomy.

"We are saddened that we're not able to rock out with our fans at the beautiful Gorge Amphitheater," the band said in a statement. "One of the highlights of festival season is Creation Northwest and the fans that come out to support us and all the amazing artists. However, right now Trevor needs to rest and recover."

Event promoters assured fans the band would be back for a slot on this fall's Creation Festival: The Tour. "Thousand Foot Krutch guarantees for an amazing show and they are a festival favorite, so we are saddened to hear they won't make it this year to Creation Northwest," Creation Festival's Nick Kulb added in another statement. "We are praying for Trevor and his wife, Erin. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to having him and the guys out on tour this fall."

Crowder's crowded fall

The David Crowder Band has been working on a fifth studio CD, Church Music, to release September 22. The release clocks in at 73 minutes with 17 tracks—and no spaces between songs. "We programmed the album first, forcing ourselves to write from the track up, and then, after the song emerged, we dismantled it, replacing much of the programming with live instrumentation but leaving the fundamentals that the song emerged from intact," said Crowder in a press release. A subsequent tour kicks off in October alongside opening acts Danyew and Seabird with a full list of dates here.

With a September 15 street date for The Elms' latest offering The Great American Midrange, the band is offering fans a free download of the lead single "Back to Indiana" after signing up for its email list. The alternative rockers also promise a website overhaul that will feature a retrospective video chronicling the last seven years and a chance to buy a deluxe version of the disc with 24 new tracks.

DW drops new disc today

Alternative pop/rock act Daniel's Window just put the finishing touches on its latest studio release Redefined, its first full-length CD in five years. The album is available on the band's website and will soon be on iTunes. A tour will follow this fall, with dates already on the books for youth conferences and retreats.

Raye's granddaughter tribute

County superstar Collin Raye's latest chart topper, "She's With Me," tells the tale of his love for his granddaughter Hailey, who has a severe but undiagnosed brain disorder. In addition to paying tribute to her bravery, he hopes to shed light on the subject and raise awareness for neurological research. The track is available at all the major download sites and also on the believer's latest CD Never Going Back. "There is no way my family and I could cope with our situation with Haley if it weren't for our faith in our Lord," Raye told Christian Music Today. "Despite constant moments of frustration and asking 'why?' we keep on living and coping, confident in the absolute knowledge that our savior knows far more than we do and that someday in his presence, he will reveal to us why our baby had to suffer so much on this earth. It was in this belief that I received the song 'She's With Me' directly from God."
