Style: impassioned alternative rock; compare to dc talk, Kevin Max, Shiny Toy Guns, Newsboys

Top tracks: "Walls," "Dancefloor," "Rain," "Better Man"

In a nutshell: In order to make the leap from one of Canada's underground treasures to full-fledged North American infiltration, Manic Drive crafted an ambitious album that's insanely catchy and constantly exciting. The collection ranks right up with dc Talk's glory days with its diversity, ranging from guitar-chiseled rockers, dance-floor frenzies, gripping ballads, and even a rap/rock number. The lyrical messages also cover a lot of territory, shifting from self-improvement anthems to calls for multi-cultural unity.
