Style: Indie Pop/Rock; compare to Eisley, She & Him and Regina Spektor

Top tracks: "Just Like Me", "Anything", "Sticky Situation"

Taking melodic cues from the folk and pop of the '50s and '60s, Ortolan brings a girl-group elegance to the eccentric Sounds Familyre roster (Sufjan Stevens, Soul-Junk, Danielson). Produced by Daniel Smith, Time on a String blends indie-pop quirkiness with dreamy harmonies akin to Eisley. Their lyrics don't convey the most profound messages about life, but with the group's members between the tender ages of 16 and 23, child-like faith is more the point. These four ladies sing bright-eyed songs of joyful whimsy for kids ages 5 to 95.
