Death and Dying

As Christians, how can we reconcile the love of God with the pain of the loss of a spouse, a friend, or a child? How do we, who believe in life after death, go through the process of dying? Death has long been a topic of discussion for the church—the Heidelberg Catechism famously opens with the question “What is your only comfort in life and in death?”—and the life, death, and resurrection of Christ are the foundation of our faith. Though we have great hope in the face of death, the tough questions death raises need to be addressed.
