Musicians

Music has long been part of the life of the church, but starting in the 1960s, Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) brought a new range of styles adopted from popular music. Since then, Christian musicians have continued to branch out, embracing such varied genres as folk, rock, and hip hop, as featured on the cover of Christianity Today in May 2013. Musicians—spiritual and secular—often rely on the form to communicate emotions, struggles, or responses to social issues.
